Slam Dunk 2015 Preview

After attending the festival for over 5 years has Slam Dunk become stale? Absolutely not.

Why you should go

Personally Slam Dunk is my favourite music festival, based on quite a few points, most importantly of which is the musical variety.

The bands never fail to disappoint; whether you're into pop-punk, heavy rock, alternative music (such as rap) or ska, Slam Dunk has something for you. Being a fan of both pop-punk and ska this festival is definitely one for me, but there's other factors that play in as well.

The tour has recently grown in size to accommodate the Midlands and the South due to demand. Originating in the city of Leeds which is geographically close to where I live, it also makes it easy to attend. Plus the fact that it is only on for a day appeals as I'm not soaking wet covered in mud and shivering in a tent, though I know that a lot of people like events such as Leeds Fest in which this has become the norm.

More plus points could be the fact that over the years my favourite bands of all time have played this show, including; Less Than Jake, New Found Glory, Alkaline Trio and Reel Big Fish, to name a few.

Outdoors

This year SDF15 will be hosted around Leeds, and will feature a venue at Millennium Square, as well as the 02 Academy, Leeds Beckett University and various outdoor stages. This sounds promising as the festival can now be even larger, as it is not confined to one location, however if there is no sign-posting or a map, finding the bands you want to see will be a nightmare.

Speaking of bands, here is the 2015 line up so far for Slam Dunk:
